SAME ATLANTA POST SCHOLARSHIPS
The SAME Atlanta Post is pleased to announce scholarship applications are now being accepted for the 2020-2021 academic year. Each year the SAME Atlanta Post awards scholarships in honor of Sy Liebmann and Al Rowe. Please follow this link to read more about these two great men we are honoring through this scholarship. The three scholarships are the Sy Libermann and Al Rowe Scholarship, the Georgia Tech Student Chapter Scholarship and the Atlanta Area College ROTC Scholarship. Multiple scholarships may be awarded and all three scholarships will use the same common application. A benefit of the program is all scholarship recipients will be assigned a mentor from the Atlanta Post membership. EXTENDED: The application deadline is June 1, 2020. Each of the three scholarships are described below:
The Sy Liebmann and Al Rowe Scholarship
A maximum of $10,000 in scholarships will be awarded for the 2020-2021 Academic Year. Annually the Atlanta Post awards scholarship(s) in honor of Sy Liebmann and Al Rowe, two long-time Atlanta Post members committed to supporting educational opportunities and enhancing the engineer profession. This year scholarship(s) will be awarded to a high school senior, a current undergraduate, or a graduate student pursuing an engineering, architecture, science, math or related degree at an accredited college or university.
The Georgia Tech Student Chapter Scholarship
A maximum of $1,000 in scholarships (minimum of one $500 scholarship) will be awarded. The Atlanta SAME Post has a long history of working with students, faculty and staff at Georgia Tech. This scholarship honors the commitment of SAME to provide educational opportunities, mentoring and support to the Georgia Tech Student Chapter. Applicants must be an active SAME Student Chapter member and continuing as a Student Chapter Member at Georgia Tech in the 2020-2021 academic year.
The Atlanta Area College ROTC Scholarship
A maximum of $3,000 in scholarships (minimum of one $500 scholarship) will be awarded to SAME connected student(s), who are enrolled in an Atlanta Area College ROTC program. Applicants must be enrolled in an Atlanta Area Senior ROTC program (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine and Space) in the 2020-2021 academic year
